On October 8th and 9th 2012, an issue with our Payment Systems affected the renewal of Mafia Wars VIP Membership for some accounts.
A very small number of our players were affected by this issue and were charged multiple times for the VIP Membership on their payment instruments (Credit Cards/Bank accounts related to PayPal).
This issue was immediately worked upon with our partner teams and Facebook and was resolved within a few hours.
All charges have been reversed and refund has already been initiated for all the affected accounts for any unwarranted charges. Please note that it may take up to 4 to 7 business days for the refund to reflect in the Credit Cards or Bank accounts of affected players.
We also received reports that VIP Membership renewal could not be processed for some players and hence some accounts could not be renewed and lost their progress in VIP membership. These players will need to re-subscribe to VIP Membership to continue enjoying the benefits.
Please be assured that VIP benefits progression for additional Silver/Gold benefits for affected players will be restored as per eligibility upon re-subscription. Please contact customer service team and create a ticket if you experience any issues.
